Bridget Harris demonstrates tenacity, grit and trial skills in court.

Bridget lives by the mantra “everything in life is negotiable.” Prior to receiving her law degree, she honed her trial skills leading trial advocacy teams for more than a decade, and as a result, is not afraid to step in a courtroom and argue a case. She tirelessly advocates for her clients day-in and day-out, whether through mediation, arbitration, or arguing in court. With her law degree, Bridget has already spent 24 days in trial and has secured five clients of her own. She hails from the Southside of Atlanta.

Most recently, she accepted an Adjunct Professor of Law position at The University of Alabama School of Law, where she enjoys teaching Civil Pre-Trial Advocacy. She was also selected as one of the finest law firm writers of 2020 by the Burton Awards, a national program run in association with the Library of Congress and presented by Law360 for an article that she co-authored “Diversity’s Next Step: Developing Minority Partners.” She primarily practices in the areas of product liability, catastrophic injury, medical malpractice and commercial litigation.

Bridget’s passion for the courtroom—her adult playground as she likes to call it—began at a young age. As captain of her high school mock trial team, she won a national championship at the age of 16. She continued this pursuit in college and went on to serve as captain of the award-winning Trial Advocacy Competition Team at The University of Alabama School of Law, which she led to the semi-finals during the 2017 National Trial Competition sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Prior to law school, Bridget served the Alabama educational community as a Teach for America Corps member, mentoring and sharing career preparedness tips with students at Lee High School in Montgomery. She continues to serve those in need through the Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program and Girls Inc. of Central Alabama.

These pro bono experiences have allowed Bridget the opportunity to work with and help individuals from all walks of life. She understands what it takes to make clients feel comfortable about their legal situations, and she always brings a solution-focused perspective to the table. Bridget is also a member of the firm's Hiring Committee, where she assists in bringing the best talent to Lightfoot.

Away from the office, Bridget is involved with her church and enjoys spending time with family, gardening, watching basketball and playing the violin. She has a passion for seeing the world and has set a goal of traveling to a new country each year.
