Biography

William Morrow is an experienced, trial-tested litigator.

For more than 20 years, William Morrow has been advocating for clients in a variety of venues across the state of Alabama and the Southeast. His practice primarily focuses on product liability, personal injury, environmental and toxic torts, employment and commercial litigation.

William has first-chair jury trial experience in both commercial and personal injury cases, including representing companies sued under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

William’s legal skill and dedication to clients has been recognized by peers across the legal industry. Since 2016, he has been repeatedly recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© by BL Rankings for his work in personal injury litigation. He is also a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association.

Away from the office, William serves on the Board of Trustees for the Highlands School and as a deacon at Independent Presbyterian Church. He is an avid fly-fisherman and enjoys running and golf.

Representative Matters

Obtaining a complete defense summary judgment in the Alabama Court for Civil Appeals in a contentious cemetery outrage case. The plaintiff’s estate asserted claims of outrage, wantonness, negligence and trespass related to the alleged desecration of burial spaces. After successfully obtaining summary judgment on all counts, the trial court subsequently affirmed this decision against the estate’s motion for reconsideration.

Representing a national chemical manufacturer in case brought by first responders and others claiming exposure in connection with a tractor trailer fire involving synthetic fiber.

Representing an international chemical manufacturer in cases brought by workers alleging exposure to isocyanate products used in underground coal mining.

Representing a national wheelchair and mobility equipment company in wrongful death action, resulting in summary judgment in favor of the company.

Representing a national moving and storage company in the arbitration of a dealer dispute, resulting in plaintiff’s verdict for the company.

Representing a municipality in defense of an employee’s claims for violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and for a retaliatory hostile work environment, resulting in summary judgment for the municipality.

Representing a national funeral and cemetery services provider in a dispute with a third party contractor, resulting in summary judgment for the cemetery.

Representing a national steel manufacturing company in defense of claims by an employee for violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and retaliation, resulting in summary judgment for the employer.

Representing an oil company in a case brought by a third-party contractor alleging injuries through exposure to oil and dispersants, resulting in summary judgment for the company.

Representing an international metalworking fluid manufacturer in a case brought by more than 400 plaintiffs asserting wantonness and failure to warn in connection with alleged exposure to formaldehyde.
