Solly Thomas faces the challenges of litigation with diligence and enthusiasm.
A participant in the firm’s summer associate program, Solly gained invaluable, hands-on litigation experience from the moment he joined Lightfoot. His contributions to the firm’s representations of various manufacturers, insurers and healthcare providers have helped secure favorable results in high-stakes matters. Recent examples of Solly’s work include:
- Drafting a successful motion to dismiss as part of the firm’s defense of a client in a product liability suit.
- Drafting a successful motion for summary judgment as part of the firm’s defense of a client facing Alabama Medical Liability Act claims.
In addition to his motion practice work, Solly has gained experience working hand-in-hand with Lightfoot’s clients at mediation and in federal and state courts.
While attending the University of Alabama School of Law, Solly was senior editor for the Alabama Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Law Review. Prior to law school he served as a United States Marine Corps infantry officer for four years. He spent his undergraduate years at Sewanee: The University of the South, where he captained the men’s soccer team.
When he is not working, Solly spends his time hiking with his dog, Gunner. He also enjoys running marathons, cycling, and cheering for the Crimson Tide on Saturdays.
