Sam is a skilled legal researcher who excels at breaking down complex issues
Sam’s rigorous approach and experience with in-depth legal analysis and academic writing supports clients across multiple industries. His work as an associate primarily involves environmental and toxic tort matters.
As a summer associate with Lightfoot in 2023, Sam contributed to several litigation groups by conducting detailed research and drafting and reviewing documents for matters in state and federal court. He is also a future 2025-2026 clerk for U.S. District Judge Corey L. Maze in the Northern District of Alabama.
Throughout his academic journey, Sam has consistently displayed exceptional leadership skills and commitment to excellence. He graduated with honors from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, where he served as managing editor of the George Mason Law Review and served as a research assistant to two law professors. Sam served as first-year competition chair for the American Bar Association’s National Moot Court Competition, where his team advanced to the octo-finals.
In addition to his law degree, Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from Samford University, where he graduated with honors. He also took part in the university’s Brock Scholars honors program for high-achieving business students and studied abroad in Italy as part of the University Fellows Classics program.
When Sam isn’t practicing law, you might find him at a pickleball court or golf course. He’s also an avid runner, having competed on the varsity track and field/cross country team in college.
