Parker’s curiosity and attention to detail drive his client-focused practice.
Parker represents clients in product liability, medical malpractice, civil and criminal white-collar prosecutions, corporate internal investigations and personal injury matters. He prides himself on building strong relationships with clients to understand their goals and works efficiently to achieve them.
Before joining Lightfoot, Parker practiced at a Houston-based firm, where he represented private defense contractors in federal and international employment matters. His work under the Defense Base Act (“DBA”) prepared him for the fast-paced nature of litigation and reinforced the importance of adaptability in advocating for clients.
Parker has experience in all phases of litigation, from drafting motions for summary judgment in wrongful death personal injury actions to conducting depositions in federal employment disputes, both ultimately resulting in favorable settlements for his clients.
In international DBA claims, he successfully investigated fraudulent claims and navigated complex expert testimony. A few of his notable matters include:
- Eliciting deposition testimony that revealed undisclosed medical documents to support his clients’ affirmative defenses.
- Uncovering the fraudulent practices by opposing counsel, who had filed hundreds of claims on behalf of foreign individuals without their consent.
- Drafting trial briefs in a matter hinging on conflicting medical expert testimony.
Parker first came to Alabama to attend the University of Alabama School of Law where he honed his legal writing skills as Lead Articles Editor of the Law and Psychology Review. He also developed his advocacy skills as a member of the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Team the Campbell Moot Court Board. An Arkansas native, he earned his undergraduate degree from University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, where he played on the men’s golf team.
Outside the office, Parker can be found on the golf course or exploring Birmingham with his fiancée Elli, who is also a lawyer.
