Biography
Jared Levinthal is an accomplished, respected trial lawyer who has handled just about every type of lawsuit for clients big and small.
Board certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS), Jared has practiced for nearly 30 years successfully trying cases in courts around Texas and the country, as well as in arbitration. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of matters, including commercial and business disputes, product liability, professional malpractice, intellectual property, insurance coverage, bad faith, wrongful death and serious personal injury. He also serves as managing partner of Lightfoot’s Houston office.
In 2019, Jared received the "2019 Top 20 Verdicts in Texas" award as well as the "2019 Top 50 Commercial Litigation Verdicts in the U.S." award from Top Verdict for the trial.
Both peers and clients recognize Jared’s skills and legal acumen. TBLS board certification in civil trial law is obtained by an average of fewer than five attorneys per year statewide. Securing this achievement requires undertaking a rigorous process that involves demonstrating a high level of practice proficiency, including trying at least 15 civil trials that meet the TBLS substantive requirements. As of January 2025, only 734 lawyers in the entire state of Texas (out of over 110,000) are currently board certified in civil trial law.
At his previous firm, Jared was named one of the “Top 100 Lawyers” in Houston by Thomson Reuters' Super Lawyers in 2019 and has routinely appeared on the Thomson Reuters' Texas Super Lawyers list since 2013. Jared has been awarded an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell® and is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Litigation Counsel of America.
Jared graduated from the University of Texas School of Law, with Honors, Order of the Coif, in 1997. He grew up in Houston and is married to Angie, who is also an attorney. When Jared is not working or being told what to do by his daughters, he loves a round of golf with friends.
