Colin is a strong and persuasive advocate for clients navigating civil matters across a spectrum of industries. His work as an associate focuses on environmental, product liability and commercial matters.
As a summer associate with Lightfoot in 2023, Colin learned to navigate the nuances of complex civil cases across industries by assisting litigators with research, document drafting and case strategy. Colin is a former judicial intern for U.S. District Judge L. Scott Coogler in the Northern District of Alabama. He has also completed summer associateships at two Am Law 200 firms and a white-collar defense and litigation boutique.
Colin obtained his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Global Comparative Studies from Birmingham-Southern College.
A high-achieving law student, Colin was lead articles editor for the German Law Journal and coached the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Team. He also was a finalist of the W&L Law Client Counseling Competition and a quarterfinalist of the Robert J. Grey Jr. Negotiations Competition.
During his undergraduate studies, Colin received the H. Irvin Penfield Award in Political Science and the Greensborough Scholarship from Birmingham-Southern College. He notably served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was a member of both the Pi Sigma Alpha-Political Science and Alpha Kappa Delta-Sociology honor societies.
Before pursuing a career in law, Colin was an English teaching assistant in Madrid, Spain. He spends his downtime reading, thrifting, running, playing pickleball and walking his golden retriever with his fiance. He also loves watching soccer, having captained the men’s team in college.
