Amie Vague is a versatile trial lawyer who believes each client deserves a tailored legal strategy.
Amie maintains a varied practice that includes work on trial and appellate matters involving product liability, medical malpractice, professional liability, commercial litigation, employment law, and white-collar criminal defense and corporate investigations. She is admitted to the Alabama and Tennessee bars and has represented clients in forums across the country from South Carolina to Arizona. No matter the venue, Amie knows the stakes for her clients and tailors her representation to meet each client’s needs and goals. Among her notable cases, she successfully petitioned the Alabama Supreme Court for a mandamus order directing the trial court to dismiss a taxpayer action against an international corporation. She also, as part of an all-woman trial team, obtained an order entering judgment as a matter of law in favor of her client at the close of the Plaintiff’s case in the successful defense of an Alabama cardiologist in a wrongful death action.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Amie joined Lightfoot in 2015 after clerking for two years for the Honorable Judge Camille McMullen on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. This experience provided her with invaluable insight into the inner workings of trial and appellate courts that she puts to use every day representing her clients. She graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law, where she was a member of the Interschool Moot Court Team and was selected as a member of the Order of the Barristers for outstanding oral advocacy. Additionally, she has been recognized by Thomson Reuters' Mid-South Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” four years in a row and was chosen to participate in the Birmingham Bar Association’s Future Leaders Forum. She also was listed in the inaugural Best Lawyers in America© "Ones to Watch" list by BL Rankings. Additionally, Amie is a member of the firm’s Hiring Committee and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
Amie has lived from Nashville to Los Angeles, but she considers Alabama her home. Outside of the office, Amie enjoys cycling, skiing, and spending time with her wife, Holly, and their three dogs.
