Wesley Smithart Appointed to Alabama State Bar Committee

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC associate M. Wesley Smithart has been appointed to the Alabama State Bar’s “Lawyer in Every Classroom Committee” for the 2020-2021 year.

A key goal for this committee is to garner exposure for Law Day, a day in April where attorneys visit middle-school classrooms, educating students about the role of law in our society. The committee also seeks to incorporate diversity initiatives into the classroom. If you know an attorney interested in participating in Law Day this year, click here for more information. Smithart received her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law with honors and was special works editor for the Alabama Law Review. While in law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Board and served as president of the Alabama Law Student Alumni Society. Smithart was a summer clerk at Lightfoot in 2018 and 2019 and previously had internships with the Alabama Sentencing Commission and U.S. Senator Richard Shelby.
