Three Lightfoot Attorneys Named to 2024 Texas Super Lawyers, One to Rising Stars
September 17, 2024
Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC Houston office managing partner Jared I. Levinthal and partners Brian C. Boyle and Robert A. Wilkins have been named to the 2024 Texas Super Lawyers list. In addition, partner Kaitlyn M. Faucet has been named a 2024 Texas Rising Star.
Levinthal, Boyle, Wilkins and Faucett were all recognized in the Business Litigation category. This marks the 11th consecutive year for Wilkins and the 12th year for Levinthal. Boyle is honored for the fourth straight year. Faucett has appeared on the Rising Stars list since 2018.
Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multi-phase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The ranking recognizes only 5% of attorneys in Texas as Super Lawyers each year; and only 2.5% as Rising Stars.
Levinthal represents plaintiffs and defendants in all types of litigation, including complex commercial cases with millions of dollars — and often the company itself — at stake. He has practiced since 1997 and handles disputes involving commercial and business issues, product liability, professional malpractice, intellectual property, insurance coverage and bad faith, serious personal injury and wrongful death.
A versatile litigator, Boyle has experience from the trial level through the highest civil appellate court in Texas. He regularly handles cases involving breach of contract, tortious interference, common law and statutory fraud, negligent misrepresentation, business disparagement, breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent transfers, trade secret misappropriation, state and federal environmental statutes, and qui tam and government investigations.
Wilkins has practiced for more than 20 years, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts as well as before arbitral tribunals. He has a particular focus on commercial litigation involving the oil and gas industry, including business divorce cases, fiduciary duty issues, breach of contract claims, securities disputes and related matters. Wilkins has also handled personal injury and tort litigation, First Amendment issues and intellectual property disputes.
Faucett maintains a diverse caseload, including commercial disputes, along with employment, healthcare, personal injury and real estate litigation. In a recent matter, she represented an oil field services provider as a plaintiff in a breach-of-contract dispute, obtaining summary judgment. The Houston Court of Appeals ultimately upheld the decision, which also awarded the clients all attorneys’ fees for both the trial and appeal.
