Terry McCarthy to Present at 2020 CLE Alabama Trial Skills Seminar

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Terry McCarthy will once again speak at the annual Trial Skills Seminar sponsored by CLE Alabama. The seminar will be held on December 21 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Hoover, Alabama, and it will also be available online by live webcast.
McCarthy will present on the latest developments in Alabama evidence law. The day-long seminar will also feature prominent judges and lawyers, including Judge Scott Donaldson, Judge Jim Hughey, Stephen Henninger and Kendall Dunson. Jury consultant Rick Fuentes will also speak on the impact of COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement on voir dire and jury behavior.

In addition to his diverse trial and appellate practice at Lightfoot, McCarthy is an adjunct professor of evidence law at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. He is co-author (along with Charles Gamble and Robert Goodwin) of the two leading treatises on Alabama evidence law: Gamble’s Alabama Rules of Evidence and the forthcoming edition of McElroy’s Alabama Evidence. McCarthy also serves on the Alabama Supreme Court Advisory Committee to the Alabama Rules of Evidence.
