Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Terry McCarthy co-authored an article with Allison Bendall, an attorney at Lloyd Gray Whitehead & Monroe and former student of McCarthy’s. The article, which was one of a series of articles on evidence law in The Alabama Lawyer, is entitled “A Brief History of Alabama Evidence Law and a Few Tips for the Alabama Lawyer.” It expounds on critical differences between federal and Alabama state evidence rules.
In addition to his diverse trial and appellate practice at Lightfoot, McCarthy serves as an adjunct professor of evidence law and has authored or co-authored numerous books and articles, including Alabama’s two leading evidence treaties, McElroy’s Alabama Evidence and Gamble’s Alabama Rules of Evidence (both with Charles W. Gamble and Robert J. Goodwin).
