Melody Eagan Speaks on ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ Panel at Birmingham Bar Event

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC managing partner Melody Eagan participated in a panel discussion yesterday hosted by the Birmingham Bar Association.
The CLE event, titled “Diversity and Inclusion: What You Should Know from In-House Counsel and Managing Partners,” was moderated by Jess Boone of Friedman Dazzio Zulanas & Bowling PC. Eagan’s fellow panelists included Tamula R. Yelling of Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc.; Aldos L. Vance of Altec, Inc.; and Khristi Doss Driver of Southern Company Services, Inc.
Panelists discussed what in-house counsel expect from their outside counsel in terms of diversity and inclusion, along with ideas and suggestions on how to meet the expectations of in-house counsel.
Eagan became Lightfoot’s first female managing partner in 2018. She focuses her practice on product liability and medical malpractice cases. She also serves as regional counsel for a number of clients and has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict throughout the Southeast. Eagan previously served as president of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, where she has served as a State Liaison for the DRI Women in the Law Committee.
