Liz Huntley featured in WVTM 13’s, “Women Breaking Barriers”

Yesterday evening, Lightfoot’s Senior Counsel and Director of Community Relations and Engagement, Liz Huntley was interviewed as a candidate in a recent WVTM 13 series, “Women Breaking Barriers.”
During the interview with morning anchor, Carla Wade, Huntley reflected on her childhood resilience, heart for education, and time serving as the president of her personal project, The Hope Institute. Huntley cites her childhood education, where she learned the value of human connection, as a pivotal influence.
“All the trauma in my childhood is now my justice."
Watch the full feature here.Through her time serving as president of The Hope Institute since 2016, Huntley has enacted initiatives to promote character in students and professional development opportunities for over 80 Alabama schools and educators. The institute partners with Samford University’s Orlean Beeson School of Education and has touched almost 39k with its work.
