Lightfoot Welcomes the 2021 Summer Associate Class
June 28, 2021
Lightfoot, Franklin and White LLC gained a few new faces this week as the firm welcomed 17 law students to its annual summer clerkship program. This is the firm’s most diverse class to date, representing two different countries, nine different states, and the first-ever recipient of the firm’s new diversity scholarship.
“We welcome a fresh Lightfoot summer class full of sharp, talented, outstanding law students from across the country,” said partner Haley Cox. ”As hiring partner, I look forward to seeing what they can do, and I know they will each bring something unique to the table. Our program is designed to give clerks a rich, realistic experience of the Lightfoot Way, so that we can identify candidates who will thrive here in the long term.”

The six weeks these students spend at Lightfoot will be shaped by enriching, hands-on experiences including attending site visits, training one-on-one with Lightfoot attorneys, conducting research and other case work, and preparing an opening statement on a topic of their choosing. Beyond their time at the firm, these individuals gain a perspective on what life at Lightfoot could be like, getting to know our attorneys and their families, as well as seeing the best Birmingham has to offer.
