BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (August 9, 2018) — After a four-day trial, a jury has awarded compensatory and punitive damages for a Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC client.
The client, who was recently released after spending twelve years in a maximum security facility, alleged that a prison guard attacked him while he was in handcuffs, causing serious back injury. The jury returned the verdict, finding the prison guard liable for assault and battery, on July 26, 2018 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
The client was represented by R. Ashby Pate and Logan T. Matthews.
