Lightfoot Of Counsel Ashby Pate gave the keynote address to the Ninth Circuit Law Clerk Orientation in San Francisco, CA, with fellow speakers, including Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy of the United States Supreme Court and Director of the Federal Judicial Center, Jeremy Fogel.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit held its annual New Law Clerk Orientation Program last week at the James R. Browning U.S. Courthouse in San Francisco. Lightfoot Of Counsel Ashby Pate gave the evening dinner address on the first night of the event. Fellow speakers at the event included Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy of the United States Supreme Court, Director of the Federal Judicial Center, Jeremy Fogel, and Chief of Staff to Chief Justice John Roberts, Jeff Minear. Pate spoke to the law clerks and the Ninth Circuit judges in attendance about his own experience as a federal law clerk, the importance of human connection in the practice of law, and his time serving as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau.
