Lightfoot Hosts ACC Alabama Chapter for CLE Program
February 10, 2020
Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC hosted the Alabama chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) for a CLE program on February 11.
Lightfoot partner Jack Sharman led a program titled “A White-Collar Toolkit for In-House Lawyers.” The presentation addressed the basic tools in-house lawyers and business counsel need when they are confronted with grand jury subpoenas, regulatory enforcement actions, surprise inspections, search warrants and other events that may herald a possible criminal investigation. Sharman provided a practical overview and insights for lawyers and advisors who do not normally practice in this area.
Sharman is head of the White-Collar Defense & Corporate Investigations practice at Lightfoot. A graduate of Washington & Lee University and Harvard Law School, he clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit; worked in the Washington office of a global law firm; and was Special Counsel to the House Financial Services Committee for the Whitewater investigation involving President and Mrs. Clinton. More recently, Sharman was Special Counsel to the Alabama House Judiciary Committee for the impeachment investigation of former Governor Robert Bentley.
