Lightfoot Grants ‘Magic Moment’ for Alabama Child with Brain Tumor
August 11, 2020
A 7-year-old with a brain tumor is receiving his wish to visit the beach thanks to Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC and Magic Moments.
The law firm partnered with the local wish-granting organization to raise money for a young boy named Cayden who is going through treatments for a brain tumor at Children’s of Alabama.
Lightfoot employees raised over $8,000 in a fundraising campaign this summer that included Magic Moments T-shirts. The firm surprised the boy last week with the news that he will be getting his “magic moment” wish of going to the beach. The firm safely spread out on 20th Street in downtown Birmingham with balloons and signs telling Cayden he was going to the beach, as Cayden and his family drove by the Lightfoot team.
“We’re so grateful for the opportunity to come together as a firm and make a dream come true for a child,” said Lightfoot partner Adam Peck, who serves on the board of directors for Magic Moments. “We hope Cayden and his family have a fantastic time at the beach.”
The firm has partnered with Magic Moments the past three years. Through its fundraising efforts, Lightfoot sent a young girl with a life-threatening disorder to New York, granted a wish for a teenager with sickle cell disease and sent a boy with cancer to Disney World.
