Lightfoot, Franklin & White’s William Brooks Interviewed by Courier-Journal About University of Louisville’s NCAA Sanctions

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner William H. Brooks was quoted by The Courier-Journal in its recent coverage of NCAA infractions involving the University of Louisville’s basketball team.

The team’s head coach, Rick Pitino, was suspended for five games and the school must vacate certain records in the wake of a high-profile sex-for-recruits scandal. Brooks discussed the potential for the case and laid out the difference in the type of appeals an institution or individual can file.

Brooks is a member of the firm’s NCAA Compliance and Investigations practice practice and has assisted a number of collegiate athletics departments around the country with infractions-related investigations. He recently represented the University of Hawaii, which successfully won its appeal of NCAA infractions in March 2017.
