Lightfoot’s six-week, in-person summer associate program immerses students in all elements and phases of litigation at the firm’s Birmingham office. Summer clerks gain invaluable firsthand experience through involvement in the real-world life of a Lightfoot trial lawyer by attending depositions, observing trials and working on meaningful assignments for top-tier clients. The firm’s attorneys provide focused training and mentorship throughout the program, including teaching the summer associates the art of jury persuasion and preparing participants to deliver mock arguments in a local courtroom.
