Lightfoot, Franklin and White, LLC proudly sponsored the Business Council of Alabama’s Annual Meeting and Small Business Awards last week. The Business Council of Alabama works to support local business through hosting networking events, providing educational resources, and employing reforms to enact real change. Lightfoot’s Liz Huntley and Brandon Essig were present at this year’s ceremony, which included naming BCA’s next Chairman, Mike Kemp of Kemp Management Solutions, the first African-American to hold this role.
Essig serves clients in the White Collar Crime, NCAA Compliance and Investigations and Complex Government Litigations and Investigations sectors, among other practice areas. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers publications and named a “Top Attorney” in White Collar Defense by Birmingham Magazine in 2020. Most recently, Essig was recognized for co-authoring a Tampa Bay Times publication analyzing the Military’s justice system.
Liz Huntley works as Lightfoot Senior Counsel, advocating for others both inside and out of the courtroom. She serves on Children’s Village Board of Directors, the Alabama School Readiness Alliance, and University of Alabama School of Law Board of Governors. She is most known for her work with her personal project, The Hope Institute. Most recently, Huntley was a featured speaker at the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Women’s Summit,” where she presented on the importance of lifelong learning.
