BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 22, 2018) — Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC of counsel Elizabeth H. Huntley has been named a Fellow of the Birmingham Bar Foundation. Huntley was formally inducted at the organization’s annual Fellows Dinner on February 17, 2018.
The Birmingham Bar Foundation Society of Fellows is a membership organization of select Magic City attorneys and judges who are committed to giving back to the profession and supporting legal services in the city.
“Liz is more than deserving of this prestigious honor,” said Lightfoot managing partner Melody Eagan. “Being selected as a Fellow recognizes a spirit of professional excellence, uncompromising adherence to ethical standards and a dedication to the Birmingham community — all things that Liz exemplifies.”
In addition to handling large corporate litigation matters at Lightfoot, Huntley is a committed child advocate and provides legal and consultation services to government and nonprofit agencies that serve children and families. She is frequently appointed by judges to represent the legal interests of children in civil cases.
Huntley also serves as a motivational speaker to various groups and organizations where she challenges audiences to adopt her “no excuses” philosophy. In 2015, she published her personal memoir, “More Than A Bird,” which recounts her childhood journey “from unimaginable darkness to radiance.” Huntley was recently named a 2017 “Women Who Shape the State” honoree by This is Alabama.
