Lightfoot Announces New Program for College Seniors and Incoming Law Students
January 12, 2021
Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC has launched a new initiative aimed at rising college seniors considering law school and incoming law students interested in becoming trial lawyers. The Lightfoot Academy will provide an opportunity to experience day-to-day life at a leading boutique litigation firm. The application deadline for the 2021 program is March 1, 2021.
“The future of our profession depends on encouraging the best and brightest to pursue a career in the law,” said Lightfoot managing partner Melody Eagan. “That means engaging college and university students when they are thinking about what comes after graduation. Our new pre-law program is designed to show them, along with students just entering law school, what it might be like to become a trial lawyer.”
The week-long Lightfoot Academy will take place in June and provide participants with an opportunity to learn from skilled trial lawyers and gain an understanding of how a litigation firm operates. The firm has modeled the program after its unique summer clerkship program, and will provide future lawyers with a front-row seat to see Lightfoot’s trial lawyers in action. Participants will have the chance to engage with multiple aspects of the litigation process, including sitting in on client and team meetings, observing trial lawyers in action and being trained and mentored by some of the most experienced trial lawyers in the country.
Applicants will be asked to provide their resume, transcripts, a cover letter, and brief answers to two short-answer questions.
