Lee Hollis Named to Washington and Lee University Board of Trustees

Lightfoot, Franklin & White partner Lee Hollis has been elected to Washington and Lee University’s Board of Trustees, which oversees institutional affairs, governance and management of the institution. Hollis was selected alongside esteemed alumna Samantha McLemore, and the pair will be sworn in at the board’s next meeting in May. Read more here.
Through service and leadership, Hollis has continued to invest in his alma mater. He has served as president of W&L’s Birmingham and Nashville alumni chapters, on the Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2002-2006 and as Association president from 2005-2006.
The university enlisted a new selection process in which alumni were able to nominate and later vote on a slate of nominees. Ballots were cast by 4,626 alumni ranging from the Class of 1946 to the Class of 2021.
Hollis has maintained a distinguished litigation practice for nearly three decades. Working primarily on product liability, personal injury and commercial cases, Lee represents some of Lightfoot’s most sophisticated clients nationwide. His work has been recognized by publications including Super Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation, The Best Layers in America and Martindale-Hubbell. Lee has served as the chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee and currently chairs the Marketing & Business Development Committee.
In addition to an award-winning practice, Hollis has maintained considerable involvement in today’s legal community. He serves as the firm representative at the Network of Trial Law Firms, where he has held the roles of secretary, treasurer, vice-chair and chair. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (ADLA), where he served as co-chair of the ADLA Trial Academy for two years.
