Lana Olson Featured in DRI’s Women in the Law Committee Fall Newsletter
December 13, 2017
Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Lana A. Olson was featured in the Newsletter of the Women in the Law (WITL) Committee published by DRI, the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel.
The fall newsletter highlighted Olson in its “WITL Champions” column, which “celebrates women and men who sponsor, mentor, champion and otherwise use their talents, influence, insight, innovations and collaborative efforts to develop, advance and retain women in the legal profession.”
In the Q&A, Olson discusses what it means to be a mentor and “champion” in the legal profession, shares advice for other lawyers and talks about the firm’s community of female attorneys, informally referred to as the “Women of Lightfoot Franklin” or WOLF.
“The WOLF pack has a special bond and gives each of us a source of confidence and strength knowing that we truly love and support each other,” said Olson. “Our view is that the success of one is a success for all. However we can help another WOLF member succeed, we do it.”
Olson is a long-time member of DRI and currently serves on the organization's Board of Directors as a National Director. In the past, she chaired DRI’s “Sharing Success” Women’s Seminar and led its Women in the Law Committee from 2013 to 2015. Olson also received the organization’s Davis Carr Outstanding Committee Chair Award for her service on the Women in the Law Committee.
At Lightfoot, Olson’s practice focuses on defense litigation in matters involving product liability, catastrophic injury, environmental law, employment and general commercial issues. She has also served as assistant general counsel for a leading heavy truck component distributor for many years, managing all facets of the company’s legal and compliance matters.
