Lana Olson Discusses Her Time as DRI President on Everything Except the Law Podcast

Lightfoot Franklin & White LLC partner Lana A. Olson was recently featured in an episode of the podcast “Everything Except the Law.” During the episode, Olson discussed what she learned about leadership during her time as president of DRI, the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel, as well as the growth of DRI’s women’s committee.

Also in the episode, Olson discussed the importance of normalizing conversations about mental health in the legal industry.  

“Lawyers are supposed to be tough. They’re not supposed to let anything bother them and they’re supposed to be immovable, but that’s not the reality of almost any lawyer I know,” Olson said in the episode. “That is a long-term process and isn’t going to change overnight, but I think the more we are open and honest about it and can normalize the conversation about mental health, the better it can be.”

Olson focuses her legal practice on complex, high-stakes litigation in various areas, including environmental and toxic torts, product liability, business disputes and catastrophic injury. In addition to her regular litigation practice, Olson served as the assistant general counsel for a leading heavy truck component distributor for seven years.
