Haley Cox Named a 2022 'Leader in Diversity' by the Birmingham Business Journal
Firm named a finalist for "Outstanding Company Initiative"

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Haley A. Cox has been selected as an honoree in the Birmingham Business Journal's 2022 Leaders in Diversity Awards. The distinction recognizes individuals and organizations that are leading the way in creating a more diverse and inclusive economy in metro Birmingham.
As part of her selection, Cox was recognized at the publication's Leaders in Diversity event on Feb. 10 and featured in the following day's edition of the BBJ. Lightfoot was a finalist in the company-wide category.
For more than a decade, Cox has been instrumental in recruiting the next generation of lawyers to Lightfoot. She serves as the firm’s Hiring Partner and serves on its Diversity Committee. These roles have been even more crucial as the firm continues to explore how it can work to increase diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal industry as a whole.
Over the past 18 months, Cox spearheaded several new initiatives that have added to the firm’s already robust efforts, including launching the Lightfoot Diversity Scholarship (now in its second year), developing the Lightfoot Pre-Law Trial Academy, and joining the second-ever cohort of Diversity Lab's Mansfield Rule for Midsize Firms.
Cox tries cases and leads defense teams in a wide range of high-stakes cases, including claims of product defect, medical malpractice and serious personal injuries. She is admitted to the Alabama and Texas bars, and she has litigated in more than a dozen states.
