Clint Speegle, Wesley Smithart Secure Speedy Jury Verdict in Fort Rucker Personal Injury Case

Lightfoot, Franklin and White LLC partner Clint Speegle and associate Wesley Smithart secured a speedy jury verdict in favor of their clients, an aerospace company and one of its employees, related to a motor vehicle accident involving the employee.
The defense verdict, which the jury returned in 27 minutes, addressed personal injury claims filed by a U.S. Army captain surrounding an incident that occurred on an airfield at Fort Rucker. Smithart and Speegle tried the case in federal court in the Middle District of Alabama.
Speegle has represented a number of unique clients in his career. This includes multiple major universities and athletics personnel facing NCAA compliance investigations; aviation owners and operators involved with NTSB, FAA and TSA investigations and civil litigation; and a variety of other clients around the country in product and environmental litigation cases. Prior to law school, he graduated from West Point and was a commissioned officer in the United States Army, serving multiple tours of duty in Iraq as an attack helicopter pilot with the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) and with 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne).
Smithart’s practice includes product liability, personal injury, medical malpractice, and white-collar criminal defense. Smithart received her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law with honors and was special works editor for the Alabama Law Review. While in law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Board and served as president of the Alabama Law Student Alumni Society.
