Chandler Bailey and Harlan Prater Participate in PLAC Panel on Effects of Pandemic on Future Juries
November 13, 2020
Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partners Chandler Bailey and Harlan Prater participated in a panel discussion for the virtual PLAC 2020 Fall Conference. Bailey moderated the discussion, which focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on future juries.
The panel examined how negative “baggage” from the pandemic could influence jurors’ thinking on particular issues, as well as whether the demographic makeup of juries may change if older citizens and those with pre-existing conditions opt out of service.
PLAC (formerly the Product Liability Advisory Council) is a not-for-profit association of product manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and select regulatory, litigation and appellate professionals who work to shape the common law of product liability and complex regulation, provide guidance on changing regulations, and strategically help corporations manage risk throughout the entire product lifecycle.

He has served as national and regional trial counsel for several of the country’s largest companies, representing them in serious, high-exposure lawsuits in more than 20 states.
Prater has represented clients in product liability, pharmaceutical, medical device, environmental and business litigation matters for more than 30 years. He is one of a select few who are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
