B-Metro Magazine Names Melody Eagan, Sara Ford and Lana Olson ‘Top Women Attorneys’

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (August 7, 2018) — Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC managing partner Melody Eagan and partners Sara Anne Ford and Lana A. Olson have been named 2018 “Top Women Attorneys” by B-Metro magazine.

Each year, the magazine publishes a list of the leading female lawyers in Birmingham. The list recognizes women who have successful legal practices and who demonstrate commitment to their community and profession. Eagan, Ford and Olson were featured in B-Metro’s August 2018 issue.

Eagan is Lightfoot’s first-ever female managing partner. In addition to leading the firm in that role, she focuses her practice on product liability and personal injury cases. Eagan serves as regional counsel for a number of clients and has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict throughout the Southeast. She served as president of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, where she has served as a State Liaison for the DRI Women in the Law Committee.

Ford has been practicing law for more than three decades. She has wide-ranging litigation experience, having handed everything from shareholder derivative suits to medical device litigation. Her specialty is complex commercial litigation and class actions. Ford is active in the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Rotary Club of Birmingham and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Olson focuses her practice on complex, high-stakes litigation in a variety of areas, including environmental and toxic torts, product liability, business disputes and catastrophic injury. In addition to her regular litigation practice, Olson served as the Assistant General Counsel for a leading heavy truck component distributor for seven years. Olson is very active in DRI. She currently serves on the DRI Board of Directors and was the former Chair of the Women in the Law Committee.
