October 28, 2019
Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC attorney Ashby Pate spoke to the Alabama Association of Regulatory Boards (AARB) on October 8.
Pate spoke at the organization’s leadership conference and annual meeting in Montgomery alongside Neva Conway, Alabama’s Assistant Attorney General. Their continuing legal education (CLE) presentation focused on recent developments in antitrust laws.
The AARB is comprised of representatives from consumer protection agencies that issue professional or occupational licenses as well as other individuals or companies conducting business in Alabama. The organization’s mission is to facilitate communication for its members and elevate the quality of services provided by state regulatory agencies.
Pate focuses his practice on international disputes, appellate work, and commercial and medical device litigation. He routinely takes on some of the firm’s most controversial matters, including prosecuting a high-profile case that led to the suspension of a former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. As an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Palau, he helped design the island nation’s first-ever jury trial system.
